Ever wondered who the volunteers and SANE staff are on the SANE Forums? Here's a small overview!
SANE Volunteers:
Community Guides – Community Guides are wonderful members of the community that champion SANE values and culture on the forums, and provide extra support! They are here to welcome, offer peer support and direct you to useful places where you can meet other members.
SANE Staff
Peer Support Workers – Peer support workers have their own lived experience of mental health concerns and are trained to purposefully share their story and experience to support the recovery and wellbeing of others. They may ask questions, share their story, connect over mutual experiences, and offer personal strategies and resources to support you! Peer support workers are here to chat and walk along side you on your mental health journey. They moderate the forums in the background, facilitate events and build supportive peer relationships.
Moderators – Moderators are trained mental health professionals that help keep the forums safe, respectful and anonymous (as seen in our guidelines here!). They moderate the forums in background, engage in community posting when they are concerned for a member’s wellbeing or have noted a guideline break, or to build connection between members.
Community Managers – Community Managers collaborate and connect with the community in all kinds of ways- including facilitating forums events and discussions, taking on your feedback and ideas, and supporting members and the SANE team to maintain the awesome culture of this space! They are here to ensure your experience in the forums is a great one.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out to the team via team@saneforums.org!
