@Ru-bee i tried that last year when they put it up. They won't do any maintenance on the property and yet it's safety issues, ie the ceiling in a room is literally falling down and dropping fibres from the insulation into the room aswell as dust and all sorts of stuff. I just can't deal with this, I was already struggling and now this aswell. It's too much.

I hear you @Former-Member it's just another thing on your plate
It honestly does sound as though you would have a good case in not having the rent increased if they're not doing appropriate maintenance and upkeep on the property! But I do know that even having to argue that case can be exhausting especially when there's already so much going on
I know that it must be getting heavy carrying everything, is there something we can carry for you today to lighten your load even by a little bit?

@Ru-bee i don't know what to do. I spent an hour waiting to get through to Sane but the call ended after an hour cos they are too busy. I don't have anyone I can talk to and right now I'm just a wreck.
I didn't need this, not now.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that, it must be a really busy morning @Former-Member Do you feel able to give them another try, or are there any other services that you find helpful to call?

@Ru-bee i just needed to chat with someone. I've rang housing SA and Junction housing to find out if there's anything they can do, I've got an appointment on Monday with housing SA and i have to try and get support letters which is hard cos i only have my gp. I've been on the wait list for housing for 15+ years at category 2 and never have I been offered a house. I've exhausted all options now and I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Yeah I hear you @Former-Member it sounds like you've been really proactive already with this situation
If you want to give the SANE line another try I'm always here to chat while you wait to get through

@Ru-bee I'm trying again to get through. I tried a crisis service and despite my panicked state and my emotions and telling them how I'm feeling (thought wise) the person was completely dismissive and showed no compassion. I just want the day to be over, I don't have it in me to face it.

I know it feels like getting through this day is impossible, but you're doing it. Just keep taking it a minute at a time

@Former-Member
That's incredibly frustrating and annoying that your appointment got cancelled! I'm really only familiar with the southern side of the city. But are there any urgent care or walk-in clinics near you? It may be helpful to go to one of those just to see if they can help you in getting through to your next GP visit.
Wow! Rent prices are just insane. We know a few people who are paying more for their rent than we do for our mortgage! It's ridiculous that they just keep putting them up. You could call Homeless Connect SA (www.homelessconnectsa.org or 1800 003 308) the can help people at risk of becoming homeless with info on options and referrals to support services.
Or you could contact RentRightSA (www.syc.net.au/rentrightsa or 1800 060 462). They have can provide information and help for tenants, including representation and assistance with mediation and access to avenues of appeal and housing providers.
There is also Toward Home (www.towardhome.org.au or 1800 809 271) who can help with a range or info and services for people at risk of homelessness.
Hopefully you can get some assistance here quickly, i'm sure the added stress is anything but helpful. As always, we're here if you need to chat... or likely at the moment... vent a bit.
If you need urgent assistance, see Need help now
